I thought every Saturday till The Marty Monologues goes live on September 30th I’d put up a little update here as to how the show is coming along. So here’s the first update.

Ticket Sales

This is the first week that tickets have been on sale and we’ve sold 24 tickets and I thank each and every one of you who bought a ticket this week. You can’t have a show without an audience and we’ve already got one! The show is taking place at The Apollo Theatre and it holds 160 people, so there are plenty of tickets left. Tickets are fifteen dollars for one and twenty five dollars for two.

Tickets include a souvenir mini-poster, stickers for the first 50 to show up and admittance to the after-party at Kenny’s Westside Pub with free chicken wings and prize drawings. Some people have wondered why we’re not selling tickets online and one of the reasons is I wanted to encourage people to shop locally and so I wanted to sell the tickets at a few of my favorite local retailers and here’s the places to get tickets to the Marty Monologues Show: Acme Comics, Lit. on Fire Used Books, Kenny’s Westside Pub and Relics Gift Shop.

The Show

Here’s the running order for the show.

6:30 to 6:45: Doors will open sometime in this time frame.

6:45 to 6:58: DJ juanGoblin will spin tunes as people take their seats.

6:58 to 7:00 A moment of silence and then DJ juanGoblin introduces Sarah Marie Dillard and Brandon Mooberry.

7:00 to (roughly) 7:04: Sarah and Brandon perform the opening song for the show and introduces Yours Fooly.

7:05 to 7:20: I come out and give the introduction to the show.

7:21 to 7:23: DJ juanGoblin plays some music while I prepare sandwich number one.

7:23 to 7:26: The first sandwich is given out to a lucky audience member.

7:27 to 7:37: I tell the first monologue.

7:37 to 7:40: DJ juanGoblin plays some more music.

7:41 to 7:43: The second sandwich is given to a lucky audience member.

7:43 to 8:05: I tell the second monologue.

8:05 to 8:08 More music from DJ juanGoblin. Also during these music interludes people are free to take photos of the stage and me making the sandwiches.

8:08 to 8:11: The third sandwich is given out to a lucky audience member.

8:12 to 8:20: The final monologue is delivered

8:20 to 8:24: The closing song is performed by Sarah and Brandon.

8:25 to 8:30: I’m going to thank key people who have helped with the show and then a final closing bow from the cast.

8:45 to whenever: After-show party at Kenny’s Westside Pub with free chicken wings and prize-drawings with prizes from contributing sponsors. I will have a lot of drinks at this party.

A splendid time is guaranteed for all (but if not, there’s no refunds) and I hope to see you there!
