Live, from East Peoria, It’s Saturday Night Marty McFly Cheeseburger starring this week’s host, OutATime Pop-Up Bar in the Par-A-Dice Hotel and featuring special guest stars, Billy, Amber, Joe, Chris, Robert, Brittany and Sarah with an "H." Now, please welcome this week’s host, OutATime Pop-Up Bar!
Here we are at the massive Par-A-Dice Hotel in East Peoria. There’s the sign for the OutATime Pop-Up Bar, which is the first and only pop-up bar in Peoria and it’s theme is the Back To The Future movie trilogy. I’m anxious to see this so let’s go in and start this week’s Saturday night!
The bar is over to the right as you walk in to the lobby, but even before you walk in to the bar, there’s a Back To The Future item on display, a DeLorean car, just like the kind Doc drove in the movie! I think that mannequin is supposed to be Marty McFly, but it looks more like Justin Bieber getting ready to go on a safari! That DeLorean logo and type font definitely takes you back to the ‘80’s!
As soon as you walk in you see the bar that is aptly named “Cafe 80’s” and it’s bathed in magenta lights from overhead. There’s two margarita machines at the end of the bar and Billy is the bartender on duty serving up the first beer of the evening! Cheers!
There’s a lounge area up at the front of the room.
As you can see, there’s lots of Back To The Future memorabilia in here including photos from the movie, Marty McFly’s purple Calvin Klein underwear and a letter from Marty to Doc on Lou’s Cafe stationary. That’s a little hint about an upcoming special guest star! (Inside joke alert!)
OutATime has live music and tonight’s band is Ray Long and The Highway 61 Band. They’re a rocking blues band from Pekin who are the winners of the Yates City Battle of the Bands.
Bifferoonie! (Yet another inside joke!)
The other side of the room is decked out in a saloon theme honoring the third Back to the Future film. As I walked in I saw two familiar faces, tonight’s special guest stars, my friends Amber and Joe! Great to see them as always and now it’s time for the weekly Saturday night dinner!
In addition to a large food menu, they also have theme drinks here named for the Back to the Future movies. The top drink is called the Flux Incapacitator and it’s a Mountain Dew and Tequila drink that four people can share. However, Chris and Robert were seated nearby with one of these monster drinks and they decided to just double down on it! Cheers, guys!
We started our dinner off with the chili cheese dip appetizer and it was a delicious first course!
Right as we finished that off, two of the pretty waitresses on duty, Brittany and Sarah with an “H” brought out our main courses!
Of course I had to get the Marty burger and it’s topped with melted American cheese and comes with steak fries. It’s your basic, no-frills ‘50’s styled cheeseburger and I loved it. Nice to have an old-school burger for a change!
Amber and Joe ordered the Mad Dog entree and somewhere beneath that chili-cheese mixture on top is a hotdog on a bun. It took some digging, but as you can see from the last photo, Amber found a chunk of the dog!
And for dessert, I got a Biff Riff which is a gin and lime juice concoction and I dedicated it to the memory of Blonde Steel. Okay, that’s the last inside joke alert for this post, I promise! Somewhere in Columbus, Ohio, Bifferoonie is chuckling at this for sure!
We started off with the chili-cheese dip which was equal parts chili and cheese and it was a tasty appetizer. The chili was beanless, like chili should be. It mixed well with the rich melted cheese and it had just a hint of spicy zing. It was a nice start to a Saturday night dinner!
I got the Marty Burger which is a standard, no-frills 50’s styled cheeseburger. It was topped with melted American cheese and I added mustard and onion. The bun which can make or break a burger was bakery fresh and the burger was satisfying and tasty.
Amber and Joe enjoyed the Mad Dog dinner and yes, there was a hot dog underneath that river of chili and cheese!

Three Galloping Gourmets—The dinner was tasty, the service was great and the atmosphere is a ton of fun! If you want to experience this unique pop-up bar, you better hurry over because it’s popping down on July 8th! Hopefully they’ll put in another unique pop-up bar after this one, it would be fun to turn this into an ever-changing experience!
