Live, from Peoria, Illinois it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Lou’s Drive-In with special guest stars, Natalie and Caroline! Now please welcome this week’s host, Lou’s Drive-In.

Lou’s Drive-In! I always love it when the iconic Lou’s sign is lit up in the sky! It's always a sign that winter is finally over!
There’s a line of cars waiting for curb service. I always prefer to sit at the island and eat my meal there. My usual spot is taken by a couple so I went and got a seat on the other side.
Before I even sat down I saw a familiar face, it’s Natalie Vonachen, who I’ve taken a photo of in past visits. She told me this is her third year working at Lou’s and she’s even working with her leg in a boot due to a stress fracture on her leg. That’s a real Lou’s trooper!
I settled in, looked at the menu and placed my order with Caroline who was working behind the counter. I ordered something I realized I’ve never had at Lou’s. Keep on scrolling to find out what this mystery meal is!
Of course I have to start off with a mug of their famous, home-brewed Lou’s root beer!
I always make a note that the signage here reminds me of Coney Island. And there’s the popcorn machine. Lou’s has become known for their popcorn in the last few years and this might just be the spot of the second MBIP Food Throwdown, stay tuned for more details on that coming up!
Meanwhile, back at my spot, my Saturday night meal is all ready for eating. The mystery portion is all wrapped up and will be revealed soon...
First we’ll sample the French fries and they are crispy and delicious!
Now the mystery sandwich is revealed, it’s a bacon cheeseburger. I realized I’ve never had a cheeseburger here at Lou’s Drive-In. I usually get the chili-cheese dog, but I think it’s time to sample a cheeseburger tonight.
I got it topped with bacon and onions and added some mustard to it. the bun is bakery- fresh and toasted perfectly. It’s really a tasty cheeseburger and I"m glad I ordered it.
The evening is coming to a close at Lou’s on this Saturday night. Always great to see it opening up because you know that summer is just around the corner!
I’ve never had a bad meal at Lou’s and this was no exception to the rule. The root beer was excellent and the fries and cheeseburger were tasty and delicious.
