If you drive by Broken Tree in the daytime it doesn’t necessarily stand out from the other restaurants and retail outlets along Main Street. However when the sun goes down and the lights start blazing this storefront really comes alive on West Main Street. Here I’ll show you.
I love Broken Tree’s storefront that gets lit-up when the sun goes down. I think this is the best neon on Main Street and possibly in the whole city of Peoria!
Here’s the front of Broken Tree where you enter.
This is the front window. Now let’s look at all the neon signs that light up this storefront.
I like how the neon shines in the windows and the lights from inside serve as a nice back drop.
These four signs are kind of like the history of Broken Tree. It started out as a coffee shop, then they added pizza and beer and it became a night spot here on West Main Street.
Thanks for being a bright spot on West Main Street, Broken Tree! It’s always a treat to drive by and enjoy the bright and blazing lights

Come on, let's go out tonight, out into the neon light...

Mexico Spider Bite Leg Update!
Some people have been asking about my Mexican Spider Bite Leg and so here’s an update. Below are the pictures of the leg in several different states though the last four weeks.
Here’s the leg after it got bit by the Mexican spider. It started out swollen and then became a pus-filled abscess on the side of my leg. It also caused my left foot to turn black and blue in some sort of weird five-toed homage to The Rolling Stones.
After a week it got so bad that had to drain the abscess and I got to see coagulated blood and piles of pus pulled out of my leg. It was actually quite entertaining and it really was a relief. But then the hole in my leg started to dry up and pus started coming back.
I went back to the doctor and he said I needed to start packing the wound with warm wet gauze which draws the pus out. I’ve been doing this for the past week and it’s looking better.
This is the hole in my leg as it stands (pun intended) today. I go back to the doctor on May 1st and hopefully it’ll continue to heal. He said if it doesn’t they’ll have to do a skin graft and I really don’t want that to happen. So we’ll see. I’ll put up another update after that visit. Thanks to all of you for the nice wishes and words in this leggy adventure!
