Photo From December 14, 2012: Tim Hennessey at Emack & Bolio’s in the Heights.
Tim and I have been friends since we were freshmen in high school. He and Jim Maxwell own the popular ice cream parlor in the heights and on the riverfront in downtown Peoria. The blog was just four days old when I stopped in and got some photos of the store and Tim making me a New York egg cream!

Blog Backstory
Starting a blog isn’t easy and it takes a while to find the true “voice” of the blog. Having known it would be kind of awkward in the beginning I decided to pepper the first few weeks with some familiar friends and so it was a no-brainer to go to Emack & Bolio’s which is co-owned by Tim Hennessey who’s been one of my best friends since high school.
I remember doing the photo portion for the entire blog in just about ten minutes because I was running late and had to get to work. I ran in, told Tim we only had like ten minutes to do the whole thing and I just started snapping pictures and then I was off to work. I put it all together the next morning.
I also included a story from my book, The Boy Who Would Be A Fire Truck about the night that Tim and I ate a bunch of hash and went to see Richie Havens in concert at a tiny beer garden here in Peoria and created what was possibly one of the worst nights in Richie Havens’ life!
