Live from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Te-J’s Sports Connection with special guest star, Lacey! And now, please welcome this week’s host, Te-J’s Sports Connection!
Here we are at Te-J’s on Adams Street. I’ve passed by this place many times, but I’ve never gone inside. I really like the art on the side of the building! Let’s go in and start our Saturday Night at Te-J’s Sports Connection!
I love the corrugated tin bar and there’s a seat at the end to get settled in at. No sooner do I sit down, than bartender Lacey serves up a beer along with a cute smile! The evening’s already off to a great start!
There’s the lit-up bottles behind the bar and there’s six beers on tap with a specialty Cubs theme. Above the taps are bottles filled with alcohol and Skittles for those that dare to try a Skittles shot! I think I’ll pass on this trip, maybe next time! But it does bring back a memory of this SNL Skittles skit.
Behind the bar are tables, gaming machines and an impressive, lit-up scoreboard.
There’s two pool tables opposite the bar and all the way in the back is a special Skittles pool table and that photo of the kid with the Skittles mouth cracks me up! They really like their Skittles in here!
I found out from my friends Jon, Amber and Joe that there’s really something unique here at Te-J’s. Well, it’s actually next door. It’s a place called Cue School and you get there by going outside in the impressive beer garden on the side of the building. Check out the giganzo mushroom lamps back here! Just like Alice in Wonderland! There’s Lacey opening up the door to the Cue School. Let’s go inside and see what this is all about!
Wow, this place is incredible! It’s like a pool hall museum in here! There’s about a half a dozen pool tables that you can play on in here. Lacey told me that for five bucks you can play in here all day and night. There’s also a yearly fee if you want to come here all the time and play and hang out. All the information can be had at the bar.
In addition to the deluxe and vintage pool tables, there’s also a ton of pool hall memorabilia in here. Check out these pool hall babes! The last one is so into the game, she forgot to put her clothes on! That’s my kind of pool playing woman!
This is just a small sampling of the photos (some of them are autographed by pool legends) and pool bric-a-brac on the walls in here. This is really a unique place and if you’re into pool, you have to come and check it out!
Here’s a link to the website, but I couldn’t get any of their links to open. The best way to find out about this place is just to stop in to Te-J’s, have a Skittle’s shot and ask the bartender to give you the information. Speaking of bartenders...
Let’s get back to the bar, by the looks of that condiment six pack, it’s just about time for...
Butch’s Pizza! They serve breakfast (they open at six in the morning!), lunch and dinner here at Te-J’s and I’ve heard the food is really good here. But by the time I got here tonight the kitchen had closed, but luckily they sell Butch’s Pizza all night long! I got a classic sausage and cheese pie and it looks and smells so good!
It was delicious, as always! You can buy Butch’s Pizza in most grocery stores around P-town, but it always tastes the best in a bar! I almost got a Skittle’s shot for dessert, but chickened out at the last minute, maybe next time! Thanks to Lacey for the great service and for giving me a tour of the Cue School and thanks to Jon, Amber and Joe for telling me about it. We’ll see you all tomorrow!
