Okay, this week the People Of Peoria segment is almost live! This morning I was a guest on the award-winning Greg and Dan Show on WMBD Radio and I asked Greg to be this week’s person for this on-going series and so here we go from around six this morning!
People Of Peoria: Person Number Seven—Greg Batton
This is Greg Batton in his broadcasting space. You can see Dan, the other half of the Greg and Dan show below, but for now we’ll focus on Greg and his luxurious velvet jacket! He told me he wore this in my honor and I am thrilled at this velvet jacket moment! Okay, as the thrill subsides, let’s move along to Greg’s Peoria Favorite Five List!
The Peoria Favorite Five List
Who’s your favorite Peoria broadcaster, past or present? That would have to be Dan Diorio, who has been a broadcaster on WMBD radio for 31 years!
Markley or van Camp? I have to go with Markley because Jamie gave me my first job at 106 radio.
Who’s your favorite Peoria person? If you don’t mind me getting a little sappy, my favorite Peoria person has to be my wife, Yvonne Grier!
What’s your favorite curse word? Shit, or as my mom used to say, S-H-I-T...you always knew you were in trouble when mom started spelling the curse words!
Who would you like to give a shout-out to? The Dream Center Peoria.
The Official People Of Peoria Shout-Out: Here’s to you Dream Center Peoria, someone out there loves you!
The Official People Of Peoria Curse Word Count List!
The weekly tally of curse words revealed in this series.
Two fucks, two shitballs, one stinkin’, one dang-a-lang and one shit.

Bonus Photos From My Morning At The Greg & Dan Show!
Every year at this time The Greg & Dan Show have a special holiday, end of the year show and this is my second year being invited to it! It’s a festive event and Corey who produces the show, brings along his mom, Dianna who bakes all kinds of great food and prepares omelettes for all of the guests! The only downside to this is I have to get up at 4:30 in the morning because I have to be there by 5:30 in the morning, so let’s go live now as I documented my morning on The Greg and Dan Show with photos!
Well, it looks like the MBIP Camera isn’t awake yet either! It fuzzed out this photo of my dad driving me to the radio station...hate the MBIP Camera. HATE, HATE...HATE the MBIP Camera!
Here we are at the luxurious and grand Civic Center Plaza, home of Alpha Media and WMBD Radio. There’s my dad with Corey, who’s the producer of The Greg and Dan Show. We traveled up to the 12th floor and saw the Alpha Media lobby complete with a heartwarming Christmas message. Many Crumbles Alpha Media! There’s Ken Zurski, greeting us with his patent-pending Jimmy Stewart pose! In addition to being a broadcaster, Ken’s also an author and you can check out his books and information here and here. Okay, here’s the door that will open us to the wacky and wild world of The Greg and Dan Show...
Baboom, here we are! There’s the broadcasting console with Greg, Dan and Corey in their respective positions while the show is on the air. I’ve known Greg since the early ‘90’s and I’ve known Dan since 1986 way back when I used to do The John Williams Show when he had the morning spot on WMBD radio. That's 31 years ago...yikes, I sure feel old now!
And here’s the real star of the show today, Corey’s mom, Dianna! Dianna cooks up a breakfast feast for this show every year and it’s amazing! As you can see there’s cookies, muffins, cinnamon rolls, hash browns and she makes omelettes for all of the guests! She’s a fantastic cook and baker and the food was so delicious and tasty! Thanks so much for the wonderful food and your hard work, Dianna!
I brought a couple gifts for everyone on The Greg and Dan Show and here they are. I gave them a photo of myself with Santa Claus from yesterday’s blog and I got them a Donald Chump Love Doll from the Green Door adult book and video store on Farmington Road. That kind of made Greg a little nervous and uneasy and I felt like my job was done for the morning!
We leave you with the festive Greg and Dan Show bar of butter! Thanks for inviting me again this year, it was a blast as always! Ho, ho, ho!
