I’ve always wondered about the fast food Chinese restaurant Panda Express. It’s the only fast food Chinese place in Peoria and it’s also the only one that sells Panda, which I’ve never eaten. So today we're going to Panda Express and order some Panda and see what it tastes like. It’ll probably taste like...chicken!

Confusion At The Drive-Through (Not To Be MISTAKEN With Panic At The Disco)
Welcome To Panda Express, may I take your order?
Yeah, I’d like a large order of Panda and some fried rice please.
Umm...you want a large order of fried rice?
No, I want a large order of Panda and some fried rice.
Uh...excuse me?
I’d like a large order of Panda and some fried rice, please.
Okay, so you want the Orange Chicken and fried rice. Would you like a drink with that?
No, I said I wanted an order of Panda and fried rice.
Okay, you’re total is $6.68, please drive up to the window.
Uhh...okay.
This is Yami, who told me that she gave me an order of Orange Chicken because it’s their most popular dish and they don’t serve Panda. I’ll admit that I knew from the beginning that they didn’t really serve Panda at Panda Express, but I was just doing it as a goof and I was impressed at how Yami handled this. She was really nice about everything and even posed for this photo. That was very nice! Three cheers for Yami! Panda Express should give her a raise and make her a spokesperson!
The Myth
This is how the order of Orange Chicken looks on their website.
The Reality
This is how it really looks when I got it home. Actually, there’s not a lot of difference.
The First Bite And The Taste
This was actually pretty good. The chicken chunks had an orange glaze outside which was not overly sweet and had a touch of spice to it. Inside the chicken was juicy and flavorful. It was served on a layer of fried rice that complimented the chicken very nicely. It tasted kind of like...Panda! For fast food, this is really good and a nice alternative to burgers and other sandwiches that you usually get at fast food joints.
Fast Food Rating
No fingers down the throat this week. I was a little sad that you can’t get Panda at Panda Express, but I loved how Yami handled the whole thing and the food was actually pretty good! We’ll see you all tomorrow!
