The MBIP Daily Peoria Photo - The Countdown Continues...6...
Okay, I’m really busy and nervous about stating the blog up again, so I’ll probably just be putting up old pictures till next Monday. Here’s my “6” picture from a post I did when Stan’s Liquor Store was closing down. This was really a scary cash register moment! Okay, less than a week to go!

The MBIP Daily Peoria Photo - Anne, Jerry and Yours Fooly At The Lariat Steakhouse
I went out to dinner last night with my parents, Anne and Jerry and we had dinner at The Lariat Steakhouse. Anne got the French onion soup and a baked chicken breast on a bed of wild rice. Jerry had a salad with the house dressing and a top sirloin steak. I got a cup of chicken noodle soup and bacon wrapped shrimp. It was delicious! Thanks to Jerry for picking up the tab as he always does because he has more money than Anne or I do.

The MBIP Daily Peoria Photo - My Two Favorite Pieces Of Writing
I have my two favorite pieces of writing framed on my kitchen wall in the MBIP World Headquarters and here they are. I read these two pieces of writing every day and sometimes more than that. The first one is from The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain: “But I reckon I got to light out for the Territory ahead of the rest, because Aunt Sally she’s going to adopt me and sivilize me and I can’t stand it.”
The second is my all time favorite chunk of writing in the world and it comes from the book, Cool Hand Luke and it was written by Donn Pearce and it is just genius writing: “After dragging in the nickels, dimes and quarters, Luke showed his hand to Bullshit Bill. He had a pair of nothing. Smiling he murmured softly: ‘Just remember, man. Wherever you go and whatever you do. Always play a real cool hand.’”
Words to live by for sure.

The MBIP Daily Peoria Photo - Trinity Church on Randolph Street
I’ve seen this church from a distance many times coming home from work, it’s just off Main Street, but I’ve never driven up to it. Last night I did and took this photo. I may do a series on churches when MBIP goes back live. I really like the exteriors of churches and the stained glass and art inside of them, but I don’t believe in what goes on inside of them. From a young age I’ve never understood the concept of “praying” to some sort of god in the great beyond, I’ve always felt that time would be better spent either trying to help someone else out or watching internet porn, but that’s just me. To each their own. God only knows!

The MBIP Daily Peoria Photo - Those Fucking Sickening Squiggly Things That Asshole Businesses Put Out In The Spring And Summer
Yesterday while driving to work I was in kind of a shitty mood anyway and what do I see in front of the old American Rental Building next to Steak ‘N Shake on War Memorial Drive? Those goddamned fucking sickening squiggly things that asshole businesses put out in the spring and summer. I hate those fucking things, they really give me the creeps and I sometimes think that businesses put them out for the sole practice of annoying me and creeping me out. I mean look at them, twisting around in a shameless and grotesque manner and in the last shot it looks like they’re bowing down to the business as part of some sort of weird Satanic ritual. As I drove by snapping photos I said the thing I probably say at least 107 times a day: “Fuck, I wish I was dead.”

The MBIP Daily Peoria Photo - The Mini Coffee Table In The MBIP World Headquarters Bathroom
I have a mini coffee table in the bathroom of the new MBIP World Headquarters. On this coffee table sits the current bathroom book I’m reading, “Was This Man A Genius? Talks with Andy Kaufman,” by Julie Hecht. This is such a good book and this is about my 11th time re-reading it, you can check it out by clicking right here. I also have my adult coloring books I got from Moxie’s ReSale and crayons and colored pencils to color in them. And there’s also a candle I light sometimes and a framed picture of Karen O. from the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Yeah, yeah...yeah.

The MBIP Daily Peoria Photo - Tony and Dan Agatucci
I had a great time last night at Agatucci’s! I met my friends Amber and Joe there and we had a delicious pizza and fun conversation with Tony and Dan Agatucci, pictured above with that classic Hamm’s Beer sign behind them. Thanks to Amber, Joe, Tony and Dan for hanging out last night, I kind of had a kooky week and it was good to just hang out, laugh and have some good times!

The MBIP Daily Peoria Photo - Dr. Martens, Past and Present
In my 19 years of living in New York I bought two pairs of Dr. Martens boots. The first pair was bought in 1993 after I got my first decent freelance writing check from the NY Daily News for a feature article on Silly Billy, who was a clown and a children’s entertainer. I got 450 bucks for that article and a byline in one of the biggest newspapers in the country, so I celebrated by getting a pair of Dr. Martens boots and then bought a couple rounds at The P&G Bar, my local tavern at the time. Those boots lasted for 12 years and I bought another pair in 2005 from a shoe store on 14th Street. Those came back here with me to Peoria and they finally have worn out and I recently bought a pair of Dr. Martens shoes and we’ll see who lives longer, me or these shoes! Okay, that’s the history of me and Dr. Martens and I can safely say: “There’s no business like shoe business!” Oof!
