Live, from Victoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Nowhere Bar & Grill with special guest stars, Kevin and Star and featuring the Ready For Prime Beef Player, Marty Wombacher. Now, please welcome, all the way from Victoria, Illinois, this week’s host, Nowhere Bar & Grill!
There’s a knock on the door here at MBIP World Headquarters and it’s my friends Kevin and Star! We’re going to our office Christmas party tonight and since I don’t blog about where I work, we’ve made it a yearly tradition of going out somewhere first for some festive holiday fun before the party. This year Kevin and Star have a place picked out and they’re going to drive there and surprise me!
And speaking of surprises, check out the Christmas gifts they brought me, two vintage paperback books! “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “Christmas Cheers” from Dennis the Menace! Very cool, I love them and they’ll be my Christmas decorations for this year! Thanks, Kevin and Star!
And off we go to this year’s pre-Christmas party destination. The drive took about a half an hour and I found out that we were literally on the road to...
Nowhere! Nowhere Bar & Grill in Victoria, Illinois to be exact!
Kevin and Star told me this place used to be a meatpacking plant and it’s now a bar here in Victoria, Illinois. This is the first time we’ve been to Victoria, Illinois for the blog, so it’s exciting to be Nowhere! Let’s go inside and take a look at the place.
Wow, it’s really nice in here! I love the brick walls and wooden floor and right off the bat I noticed all the vintage signs in here.
These are so cool and the Redneck Fire Alarm brings back memories of a Thursday Night at Sugar a while back! The bottom sign is from back in the days when this was the J. Brodie Meatpacking Plant.
Elaina and Lea Ann were the bartenders on duty and check out the beer that Lea Ann is serving up. It’s Victoria Beer, that’s perfect!
Here’s a shot from the back of the front bar and there’s a game room opposite the bar complete with two pool tables and a nice shuffleboard table.
Lea Ann took us to the back to show us this party room that you can rent out and bands play back here as well. Wow, this is such a cool room and it’s loaded with signs, antiques and bric-a-bracs. Let’s take a look at some of the items in here.
I could spend a week in here! These pictures just scratch the surface of everything on display in here. It’s like a museum of vintage memorabilia! It’s well worth the half an hour ride from Peoria, just to see everything in here!
Meanwhile, back at the bar, Lea Ann wished us a Merry Elfin Christmas! Nice hat!
We were going to be eating a full dinner at our Christmas party, so we ordered an appetizer combo and it came with a variety of housemade sauces. Everything was so delicious and Lea Ann even brought us a tub of gourmet popcorn. As you can see, we polished everything off! They have a full menu here with burgers, wings, sandwiches and Lea Ann said the fried chicken was exceptional, so we’ll have to make a return trip here and try that out!
Cheers from Nowhere! Thanks to Lea Ann and Elaina for the tour, hospitality and great appetizers! And special thanks to Kevin and Star for driving, hanging out and for the cool Christmas books! Great to hang out with both of you as always! I’m already looking forward to our next road trip! We’ll see you all tomorrow!
