Well, it’s Friday, December 23rd and it’s time to kick this Christmas weekend into full gear and that can mean only one thing,,,The Second Annual Nathalie And Marty Holiday Dinner At Jim’s Steak House!
It’s exactly one year ago that I had the first holiday dinner with my friend, Nathalie here at Jim’s Steak House. We had such a good time we agreed to meet here every year and make a Christmas tradition out of it and so here we are, time to let year number two begin!
We’ll go down and take the elevator to the foyer with the elegant wine-colored leather couch and the Jim’s logo etched into the mirror. I love this place, it reminds me of an old school New York steak house.
As cool as this place is all year ‘round, it’s really spectacular around Christmas time when they put up all the lights and decorations! Check out the tree in the front with the lit-up reindeer and mailbox!
The dining room is lit up like Rockefeller Center in here! I love it! Let’s grab a table because soon our guest of honor will be here...
And here she is, looking prettier and more gorgeous than all the lights and decorations in here, my friend and semi-regular guest star here on MBIP, Nathalie!
Our waitress for the evening is Lisa, who’s looking lovely tonight too! She’s been on the blog before and it’s great to see her again. It was tough to make a dinner decision, but we decided and soon you’ll see what we ordered, keep on scrolling!
Through the miracle of these here interwebs, dinner is already happening! Here’s Nathalie with her salad. It was fun catching up with Nathalie because we haven’t seen each other since last summer. It turns out she did a lot of traveling in the last few months and it was exciting to hear of her adventures!
Here’s the main courses we ordered for dinner: Nathalie got the Sea Bass and I got the special of the night which was a bone-in filet with cracked pepper au poivre sauce and topped with large shreds of Gorgonzola cheese. Dinner was so good, I had a piece of Nathalie’s Sea Bass and it was so light, flaky and buttery rich! I’m not usually a big fish eater, but this was really a tasty treat!
The filet was beyond decadent! The meat was juicy, tender and flavorful! The cracked pepper au poivre sauce was savory and rich and the flaked Gorgonzola cheese took it to levels my taste buds were oh so grateful for! As a rule of thumb, Nathalie doesn’t eat meat much, but...
Even she couldn’t resist trying a bite! Dinner was great and we really had an enjoyable conversation about the last year. It’s crazy that an entire year has flown by, but like I always say, fun flies when you’re having time!
After dinner we went in to the bar for our traditional photo holiday photo. The bar is equally impressive as the rest of the restaurant and I love the booths, piano bar and the highly-polished bar in here. It’s so sparkly!
Amanda was the bartender on duty and we had a nice conversation with her. Everyone at Jim’s is really friendly and make everyone feel very welcome here.
Here’s a shot of the back of the bar and if you look real close you can see an obligatory mirror shot of Nathalie and I. It’s a Christmas miracle!
Nathalie put on the Santa hat for our second annual holiday photo together! Thanks to everyone at Jim’s for a great dinner and friendly hospitality! And special thanks to Nathalie for joining me for dinner and taking part in our second holiday dinner together, always wonderful to see and hang out with you, Nathatlie! Hope to see you again soon! And we’ll see you all tomorrow for a rare Saturday updated Christmas card post from The Greg and Dan Show and other holiday surprises!
