Halloween is coming up and if you’re stuck for an idea as to what to dress up in, need a costume or just need something to add to what you’re already going to dress up as, The Costume Trunk on Main Street is a spooktacular place to go to for all of your Halloween needs. The Costume Trunk has been in business in the same spot on West Main Street for over three decades making them one of the longest running businesses, if not the longest running business on West Main Street. So if you’re looking for the perfect place to find the inner boo in you, this is the place to discover it, so let’s go and take a visit there.
Here we are at The Costume Trunk on West Main Street. As you can see, there’s two Costume Trunk Doors to enter, let’s try the one on the right and see if we get a trick or a treat.
Well, it looks like we get a masked man and the man behind the mask is Steve Spain, the man who’s been tending funny business for over three decades here. Steve told me that while this is a busy time of year for him, it’s usually the craziest the days closest to Halloween. Since that day is over a week away, let’s take leisurely little tour around in here.
Masks are pretty synonymous with the word, Halloween and there’s plenty of quality ones in here, not those sickening, cheapo plastic ones that you’ll find at horrible places like Wal-Mart, these are classic, well-made masks and perfect for a quick Halloween costume. Just slip on the old noggin and you’re ready to go!
There’s even more masks over here on this wall. All of these masks are giving me a movie flashback!
Personally, I think these are the best masks for a Halloween costume, especially if you’re going to be drinking. That’s my little Halloween tip, but don’t tell anyone in Springfield I suggested that. (Inside joke alert!)
The Costume Trunk also has makeup, Dracula Fangs and a whole selection of wigs, if you plan on getting wiggy with it on Halloween.
If you need more than a mask or makeup, well, don’t sweat it, there’s a whole showroom of costumes over here behind the other door to The Costume Trunk.
See, I told you so!
There’s racks of outfits, jackets, dresses, shirts and even a big rack of hats if you want to get mad as a hatter this year!
I’m not a big fan of pre-made costumes, but there’s plenty of those here too, if that’s your thing. The Headless Man makes me think of this famous New York Post headline. And depending on the outcome of this year’s election, maybe next year there’ll be a First Man outfit in here. And check out the Disco Queen outfit at the bottom. Wherever there’s a Disco Queen, you know that there’s going to be...
Some Coke nearby! That calls for a rimshot and we’ll see you all tomorrow!
