One of the reasons I wanted to do twelve more weeks of wings after we did the first dozen was that there was still places I felt needed to be highlighted for eating chicken wings in Peoria that I didn’t get to the first time around. One of these places is Rumberger’s Wings & More. I first stopped in there back in July of 2014 and meant to include it in the first chicken wing tour. Well time slipped by and I didn’t get to go there for that chicken wing tour, but we’re going to correct that today and away we go to...
Rumberger’s Wings & More! It’s located on Prospect and the building is owned and maintained by...
Matt Hume! We first met Matt when we tried to go to a Mexican restaurant here and found out it was closed. He told us that Rumberger’s was moving in and we ended up meeting Matt here to try it out. Rumor has it that Matt’s in the building today...
Let’s go in and find out!
They have a large dining area in here and as you can see, business is booming here! This is a popular spot in the neighborhood!
I think I see a familiar face up there by the counter...
There he is, Matt Hume! Good to see him and then another familiar face came out of the kitchen...
It’s the owner, Jason! Great to see him as well! Now it’s time to start the chicken wing thing for the week!
Chastity was looking pretty and working the counter and she took our order.
As I noted earlier, the dining room was nearly full, but Matt and I secured this table.
These fellows were eating nearby and said they were enjoying the wings and sides and posed for the MBIP traveling camera!
Wow, that’s some fast service, here’s Chastity with this week’s batch of wings!
We got a variety of flavors including...
Ranch, Hot, Dirty Seasoned Rub, Lemon Pepper and Hot BBQ. They look delicious!
And now for the all important cooling process which allows me to have another beer...
Oh wait, they don’t have beer here...yet! Stay tuned for more information on that later, but for now we’ll just have some more water while the wings cool down.
I already knew this from eating here before, but the wings here are really good. Plump, juicy and all the flavors are really tasty, but I think my favorite was the Dirty Seasoned Rub. The Hot Wings ran a close second to those.
Here’s Matt enjoying his wings!
Weekly bones and napkins shot!
For dessert we got an order of the homemade Rum Buns. Pictures cannot do these fried buns of wonder justice! They are crispy on the outside and pillowy soft and sweet on the inside. They sit in a pool of butter and honey and I can’t tell you just how good these buns are, you need to stop in and try them for yourself!
As I noted at the top of the post, Matt and his family own the strip of buildings here and they are all occupied except for this unit at the end. This was originally set up for a stylist to move into and has lots of rooms inside of it. It would make a great home for a hair stylist, nail parlor, medical office and many other types of businesses. If you’re looking for a business space...
Just call Matt and he’ll give you a tour! And maybe if you rent it he’ll buy you lunch at Rumberger’s! Thanks to Matt for joining me for lunch and to Chastity, Jason and everyone at Rumberger’s for great wings and those wonderful Rum Buns! We’ll see you all tomorrow!

Bonus Firetruck Person!
My friend Amber saw this on Reddit today and sent it to me, looks like I’m not the only who wanted to be a fire truck when they grew up! Nice to see that there’s another kindred fire truck spirit out there! Thanks for spotting that and sending it to me, Amber, it’s too funny!
