Live from Peoria, it’s Saturday Night starring this week’s host, Emo’s Ice Cream Shack and featuring The Ready For Prime Beef Player, Marty Wombacher. And now, please welcome this week’s host from the corner of Prospect and War Memorial Drive, Emo’s Ice Cream Shack!
Here we go, we are off and zooming into the night at a knuckle-cracking speed of 17 MPH! I feel the need for speed!
Signpost ahead, Emo’s Ice Cream Shack! Let’s go park and let this Saturday night unfold before our very eyeballs.
There it is, Emo’s Ice Cream Shack complete with the creepy-ass clown that’s been part of Peoria’s history and scenery as long as I can remember.
Check out this vintage menu on the side of the building.
It was really hard to get a good shot of the Emo’s clown because the lighting is weird at night. I stood there and took like 59 shots to get this one. I’m giving myself an “A” for effort on this clowny cause to get a decent picture and that’s just the way it is!
Check out the crowd here to get some treats on a Saturday night!
Here I am getting in line.
We’re just about there...
And here we are at the window, all we need now is someone to come up and take our order...
And here’s Kaitlynn taking that aforementioned order!
Check out the Emo’s t-shirt, I want one of those!
Here’s the four pretty women on duty at Emo’s on this Saturday night, from the left: Charlotte, Karen, Miranda and Kaitlynn.
Condiments!
Uh, oh, wrong ketchup, Emo’s. Maybe you should read this post and hopefully they’ll be Heinz packets here when we stop back here again.
We’ll wait over here for our food order.
And the order is up! Hooray!
We’ll sit over here.
And here is tonight’s dinner. I got the Shack Burger with cheese. It’s a loose hamburger sandwich. I also got an order of chili-cheese fries and a caramel milkshake. Jealous much? I know you are!
The burger is really good. You can read more about it in the review below but it’s really a unique sandwich.
The chili-cheese fries were tasty and delicious as well!
Here’s a shot of some picnic tables on the other side of the building. As I shot this photo someone said hello to me, let’s go see who it is...
It’s Jamie and Sara enjoying some ice cream. Sara told me she’s a regular reader of MBIP and that she found out about the blog from her friend and my second cousin, Susie Hobin! I just saw Susie about a week ago and if you’re a regular reader, you know what has to get cued up now!
This is Rosie, Jamie and Sara’s pet puppy. Rosie is just four month’s old and what a cute little doggie!
Goodbye, Mr. Creepy Clown! See you next summer!
I got the Shack Burger with chili-cheese fries and a caramel milkshake. The Shack Burger is a loose meat burger and I got it topped with melted cheese. The beef is savory and tasty and the cheese was delightfully drippy and encased in steamed bakery-fresh bun. The chili-cheese fries were equal parts cheesy-rich and zingy-tasty and the meal itself was a classic Emo’s treat. A little greasy and a whole lot good! The milkshake was a thick, sweet and creamy. I wouldn’t eat this stuff every day of the week, but once in a while it’s a magical treat! And you gotta love the creepy Emo’s clown!
SN Rating
Three Galloping Gourmets - The meal was a nice little guilty pleasure of equal parts savory (the Shack Burger and chili-cheese fries) and sweet (the caramel milkshake.) You should stop by before summer is over and enjoy a roadside meal at Emo’s Ice Cream Shack!
