The Weekend Contributing Writer’s Pool was dry this week, but luckily I had yesterday off from work. I read on facecrack that there was an art show going on at Junction City, so I decided to take a walk around over there and check it out and you can come along too. Just scroll along and it’s off we go!
Drive-by shot of Junction City!
And here we are, let’s start wandering around this place on a partly cloudy Friday afternoon.
We’ll start down here and just kind of work our way down.
Here’s some people just setting up, let’s take a look at what they’re selling.
There’s some ceramic turtles and other clay works of art. Very nice!
And here’s the artists, Lily and Dan. Check out their facecrack page right here for more information.
These two women are hanging paintings, so which one is the painter? Take a guess and then find out in the picture below!
If you guessed this woman, you are right! Don Pardo, what do the winners get? Oh fuck, Don Pardo’s dead, never mind. Anyway, this is Charlotte Beck and her paintings are fantastic! Check her out on facecrack right here.
Hey check it out, there’s a musician over there singing and strumming on a guitar, let’s go have a listen.
Sorry that you can’t hear this, but she’s really talented and a great singer and musician. Her name is Mindy Watkins and while she’s playing solo today, she’s also part of a duo called, Porch Swing Therapy. You can read more about them and check out upcoming appearances by clicking right here.
Hey look who’s back here in the crowd listening to the show, it’s MBIP pal, Adam Gerik! Great to see him out here! But take a look at the area between his pants and his shoe...I don’t think he’s wearing socks and I find that somewhat troublesome! I didn’t have time to dwell on Adam’s socklessness though because...
It was soon time for a little Hobo Love as I hug it out with fellow Sombrero wearer, Matt Buedel! #HoboLove
Thirty-thirty Coffee Co. is now open. Duly noted!
Sarah was displaying her handmade jewelry and you can read more about Sarah at her website right here, right now.
Ricky Traughber had his ceramic works of art on display over here. He told me he’s only been doing this type of art for three years and what he’s created is very impressive.
Kamey was seated over here at the boardwalk displaying..
Her handmade jewelry. Really nice work! Check out her facecrack page.
Toni had some unique artwork on display at her table, let’s take a look...
She makes and designs bowls and coasters from re-purposed fabric. Very cool! And she told me her son reads this blog, from somewhere in California I think. I should’ve written it down! Hey, Toni’s son, if you’re out there, let us know where you are and thanks for reading the blog!
This artist is Maggie Off and she teaches art at Notre Dame High School, where we had lunch at a while back! It turns out Maggie’s maiden name is Hobin and I know a bunch of Hobin’s and some of them have even been featured on this blog! Great to meet Maggie!
She’s selling magnetic key chain and heart magnets...
And I bought this one that has, “Dammit,” inscribed on it. Thanks, Maggie!
As I was headed to my car this vehicle in the parking lot caught my eye, let’s go see what it is...
Hey, it’s a food truck!
Wholly Crepe, ha! Love that name and I love crepes!
This is Taylor, who’s the assistant manager of this food truck. Let’s check out the menu...
Wow, lots of different crepes offered up here, I made my decision, placed my order and...
Through the magic of these here interwebs, the order is up!
I got the Nutella, banana and whipped cream crepe, It looks amazing!
