One restaurant I’ve heard good things about is Thanh Linh on Main Street. I couldn’t wait to get there for our Eating Main Street tour, so I thought I’d jump the gun and go there and try out their Vietnamese Pho soup for week number four of the MBIP Six Weeks Of Soup tour. And so away we go on another soupy adventure!
Here we are at Thanh Linh, let’s go inside and take a look around in here.
It’s really nice in here and I like the long, shotgun feel of this front room.
I love the photos from Vietnam that are spotlit on the walls in here.
Check it out, there’s another dining room over here.
This is a popular spot, it’s after one in the afternoon on a Monday and there’s still a decent crowd in here!
As I was taking photos in this room, I ran into an old friend, Terry Grawey! I haven’t seen Terry in decades and it was so great to see him again! In addition to running all kinds of businesses, Terry’s a certified hypnotist and does hypnotism comedy stage shows. Check out his website right here. Terry’s next show is at The Lariat on Saturday, November 21st, with special guest star, MBIP pal, Greg Batton! You can read about the details of that show by clicking here. I’m going and hope to see all of you there! Here’s Terry with his family, clockwise from bottom right: Terry, Eileen who’s holding granddaughter, Lucy, Carlie and Cole.
Lucy took a moment from valuable smart phone time to post for the MBIP camera, very nice of her!
Okay, I think I’ll sit over here.
Thanh Linh is known for their popular luncheon buffet which runs from 11AM to 2PM.
It sure looks good...
And there’s soup here too, but not the kind of soup I want, so it’s back to the table to order from there.
And I’m glad I decided to order, otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to meet these two pretty women, Mayflor and Marilyn! I ordered the Pho soup...
And before I had time to massage my ankles—baboom, Marilyn is back with the soup! That’s some fast service!
It looks so good and this is the small bowl of Pho! It also comes in medium and large and I can’t imagine how big those bowls are!
The soup comes with a variety of items to add to the soup and here I am dressing the soup up.
The final addition is a healthy dollop of pepper and...
Soups on!
I love the decorative soup spoons they have here!
Wow, it’s so good! If you’ve never had Pho, it’s a rice noodle soup with beef broth, vegetables and slices of tender beef. It’s so hearty and satisfying! It’s worth passing up the buffet for, but I will return and try the buffet when we come back for the Eating Main Street episode, so stay tuned for that!
Wow, that soup is like eating an entire meal! So good and tasty! Such a satisfying bowl of soup!
When I had finished lunch, Terry introduced me to Loc, who owns Thanh Linh along with his wife. He’s a really nice guy!
And now it’s time for a fortune cookie!
Let’s see what it says...
Wow, this is one smart cookie! Thanks to everyone at Thanh Linh for the hospitality and great Pho soup! We’ll see you all tomorrow!
Soup Rating:
Three and a half Soup Nazi’s—If you’ve never had Pho soup, you should try it out here, it’s so Phoking good! Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself!
