I found out this week that two men that I met while doing this blog both died last week. One is John Armstrong, who I first met at the original Champs West on Western Avenue on June 10th, 2013. The other is Don Gort, one of the two Dons we met when we went to Electronics Diversified last week. I learned he died the day after I did that post last week through a message on facecrack. John Armstrong died on August 21st. I feel lucky to have met both of these gentlemen and thought I’d dedicate today’s post to their memory and put up a few photos as a tribute.
I didn’t really know either one of these guys too well, but felt that I learned a little something from meeting and spending some time with both of them. Both had a passion for life that I got to be a part of during the brief encounters that I had with each of them. I’m honored that I got to spend time with the two of them and hope this post helps their memory to live on.
I’ve met so many interesting and cool people since I started this blog and I’m really thankful for that. I’ve made new friends and reconnected with friends and acquaintances from the past. Sometimes life can go by so fast you don’t see it happening as minutes turn to hours and days become weeks that are gone by in what seems to be a blink of an eye. Every now and again it’s a good thing to slow down and take a look around you. That’s what I’m going to do today and suggest you do the same.
We’ll see you all tomorrow.
