Before we begin this post, I want to welcome a new addition to the MBIP Bucket List, The Fox Pub and Cafe! We recently had a Contributor's Lunch out there and it's great to have them join in on our ever-growing Bucket List of places you should check out in the Peoria area! Okay, back to our scheduled post, already in progress!
-------------------------
Last week when I put up a post on facecrack about that week’s pizza journey to Veteran’s Pub & Pizza, I got this following comment from fellow Peorian and future donut store owner, Christine Slane:
I’ve never been to Bacci’s and MBIP pal and Contributor, Chip Joyce told me it’s a classic Bradley hangout that I should definitely check out. Okay, so it’s off to Bacci’s we go for week number eighteen!
Off we go, thundering into the night in search of more pie in this 18th week of pizza!
Here we are, Bacci Pizza. I love all the neon in the windows, this place has a real New York look to it from the outside. Right after I took this picture someone yelled out to me and it turns out we're going to have a couple of unexpected guest stars tonight. Hang on to your socks and keep on scrolling and you'll soon find out who they are.
This will seem weird to my New York friends, but Bacci's is one of the few places that serves pizza by the slice here in Peoria.
There's outside seating here on the sidewalk, but it's a little warm out here tonight so...
Let's go inside and enjoy the air conditioning!
It's nice in here and fairly quiet. I've heard that when Bradley is in session it can get kind of rowdy in here after hours. Speaking of after hours, this place is open till 3AM, which I think makes it the only place in Peoria that you can get pizza that late at night. And remember those guest stars I told you about earlier?
Well, here they are! It's Mara and Liz. Mara's a friend of mine who was driving by as I was taking pictures of the place. She stopped, screamed out, "Hey Marty!" and after the shock of a woman screaming my name out on the street, wore off she, along with her friend, Liz joined me in Bacci's for a little impromptu pizza party. Very cool to have these two pretty ladies joining in on the fun tonight!
The menu board stands above the front counter where pizzas are on display.
The pizzas in here are massive 30 inch pies! Who says size doesn't matter?
Brandon and Jerry were on pizza duty behind the counter and posed for the MBIP roving camera.
Here's Jerry sliding one of the monster pizza pies into the oven behind the counter.
This is Sean, who's the co-owner of this fine establishment. Everyone here is really friendly and it's a fun place.
Arcina is working the cash register tonight and she rings up our order...
As Mars and Liz get some soft drinks. Sadly, they don't serve beer in here. Although, after midnight in here, I have a feeling most of the patrons have had more than their fair share of booze.
This is Tevis, who'd a driver for Bacci's and she's waiting for her next order to deliver.
Stool's line the back wall in here. Right now they're empty, but Mara told me that later on, when the bars all close, there can be a line forming out the door. Luckily, it's just a little after 10PM, so we're missing out on that madness!
This circular table up front is bathed in neon light from the windows.
Here's the condiment corner, all we need is the hot sauce and pepper. The hot sauce, by the way, is Louisiana Hot Sauce. I think this may just be the first place that doesn't have Frank's Hot Sauce!
I forgot to write this guy's name down, but if I remember correctly and I probably don't, it's Keven and he's serving up our slices with a smile!
Here we are with tonight's impromptu pizza party in full swing!
This is my slice all peppered and sauced up. I got the sausage slice and while it looks big here, check it out from this perspective...
Mara took this shot of me trying to eat this monster jumbo slice. I think I'll use a fork and knife on my next visit!
Wow, this pizza is really filling, I got halfway through and had to call it a night.
So I put the remainder of the slice inthis to-go bag...
And said goodnight to Mara and Liz. Thanks to them and everyone at Bacci's for a fun pizza night out on the town!
And now, time for the next day cold pizza challenge and note that Red Stripe number two has been drank in Spike's honor! I think next week we'll have one of the Red Stripes with the cold pizza.
It's delicious. We'll see you all tomorrow!

Three Chef Boyardees—One of the few places in town that you can get a single slice and it’s a delicious slice, but can you eat the whole slice and nothing but the slice? (I couldn’t, but it was delicious cold!)
