There’s not too many bars in Peoria I haven’t been inside of, but Rhodell Brewery is one such place. I keep meaning to go check it out, but never seem to get there. Well, all that changes tonight...to the MBIP Mobile!
The stoplights are bleeding color as we take off into the night on our way to Rhodell Brewery on Water Street.
Here we are at Rhodell Brewery. There's neon in the window and a welcome sign up ahead on the stairway to beer.
Let's go in and let the night begin!
Wow, it's very nice in here, I like the subdued lighting and the wooden floor. It's like a small beer hall in here.
Here's the bar, there's a couple guys hanging out and corner seat available. Let's snag that and order up a beer.
The seat has been officially snagged and friendly bartender, Dustin serves up the first beer of the evening. I chose one of the house-made brews called, "Hop Head."
Bentley was at the bar and he was getting ready to go to Summer Camp at Three Sister's Park for the Memorial Day's weekend festivities there.
Blue lights hang over the bar and give the place really good mood lighting.
Here's the view of the place from my perch at the bar. I like the neon "Brew Pub" sign, hanging down there at the end of the room.
And this place truly is a brew pub...
A good portion of the beer for sale in here is brewed back here, right on the premises.
They not only serve beer at the bar, it's also hung up on the wall for art.
There's square wooden tables and stools to sit at opposite the bar.
And there's round ones too just so both types of tables are represented here. Rhodell's is an equal opportunity table place!
I told you Rhodell's was an equal opportunity table establishment, there's even a pool table in this side room.
This fellow hanging out in the main room is Angus and you can learn more about him in this Barstorming episode when Phil and Danielle from the PJ Star filmed an episode here.
This front table looks out at Water Street and is bathed in bright neon light.
And now for your Pete Townshend moment of zen.
Meanwhile back at the bar...
I put Dustin to work by ordering another mug of Hop Head beer.
Here's the nine taps of beer that's made here on the premises at Rhodell Brewery. The taps at the end are hard to see...
So here's a shot from the other end. Hopefully this will be worthy of a Spike-O-Rama Taps Rating. He doesn't give them out to just any bar!
Here's the one lone tap at the front of the bar.
And we leave you with this obligatory bathroom mirror shot. We'll see you all tomorrow...and hey, let's be careful out there!
