Last Sunday was the 50th anniversary of The Beatles debut appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. There was lots of celebrations and shows last Sunday in honor of this event. One of them played out right here in Peoria and it was a show that exceeded any expectations I had mustered up in my tiny little brain.
Craig Moore told me he wanted to put on a show celebrating this anniversary last summer. I told him it was a great idea and in my mind I wondered how you could pull something off to even come close to match that magical evening all those years ago. Well, Craig, along with the help of a lot of his friends did the impossible—this concert was one of the most unique and exciting shows I’ve ever had the pleasure of attending.
It had it all: A guitar army, videos, special guest stars, a string quartet, sitars, drums and most importantly, Beatles songs sung and played by wonderfully talented musicians. I was granted all access to run around and shoot photos and so I took full advantage of that opportunity and ran around like a raving maniac and took over 400 photos! Below I’ve sifted through those and picked out ones that I feel did the evening justice. There’s so many photos, I can’t caption them, so put on your favorite Beatles album for background music and enjoy the photos starring the acts you’ve known for all these years!
