One thing I constantly preach on this blog is to shop local and support the fine merchants in our area. Well, when it comes to drinking locally, you can’t get any more local than the Peoria Brewing Company. They’re not only locally owned, they brew their own beer there! And tonight I can have more than two beers there because...
Just like on “Let’s Make A Deal,” the answer is behind door number one...
It’s MBIP pal and Contributor, Bob Gordon who’s going to be doing the driving tonight. I’d say that calls for a beer or twelve! Let’s make tracks to the Peoria Brewing Company!
And here we are making those aforementioned tracks to...
Peoria Brewing Company. It's located out here off Pioneer Park and it's housed in a big industrial warehouse type of building. A very different look from your average bar.
You enter over here on the side of the building where the Tap Room sign hangs over the door.
Fitting that the first thing you see in The Peoria Brewing Company is wooden kegs of beer. Let's go inside and see what's happening in here tonight.
Here's the owners of this fine establishment, Christian and Todd. These guys had a dream to do this and they acted out on it and have built a really unique bar and brewery here in Peoria. Christian handles the business side of things while Todd is the Brewmaster here and he's responsible for all the bubbly goods behind the bar. You can read more about them and how they turned their dream into reality by clicking here.
Angela is serving up two of the house-brewed beers up to Bob and I. In addition to the largest selection of locally brewed craft beers, Peoria Brewing Company also has some of the prettiest bartenders in town. In addition to Angela there's also...
Becca who's doing time on the other side of the bar tonight.
Becca's heading off to teach children in Bali and there's a benefit tonight at Peoria Brewing Company to raise funds to help her get over there. Click here for more information about tonight's benefit. Lucky Bali, they're about to get the prettiest teacher in the world!
Here's Christian and Todd with yet another pretty bartender, Kristina who also has a great sense of humor and attitude.
There's lots of tables and festive lighting here in the main room opposite the bar.
Christian told me that this is their version of a Christmas tree. Now that's my kind of tree!
This is the room where the beer is brewed. It kind of reminds me of the lab on Breaking Bad!
Festive stockings are hung behind the bar surrounding...
The dozen beers on tap, all brewed right here on the premises.
Here's Kally, yet another beautiful bartender pouring out a glass from the taps behind the bar.
Christian took me behind the scenes to the other side of the bar where the beer is actually coming from. Very cool!
They also distribute their beer to bars around town. Peoria Brewing Company beer is now available on tap at over 25 bars around town and growing. A couple of bars that recently added their beer to their taps are the Tartan Inn and Owl's Nest in West Peoria. I recently sampled one of their beers at Famous City Bistro.
If you're a golfer and you're bummed that the season is over, you need to come out here and check out the golf room here at Peoria Brewing Company.
This room has life-like golf simulators in it so you won't get rusty while it's too cold outside to keep practicing your swing. Schwing!
If you frequent bars around town, this chalk art will be familiar to you...
It's drawn by local artist Devin McGlone and he's done a lot of work here in the Peoria Brewing Company.
Here's another colorful piece of his artwork and here's...
The artist himself, Devin, enjoying a beer at the bar. Great to meet him and it turns out that Devin is Bob's brother-in-law! Time to cue this up and you can read more about Devin and his art in this PJ Star article written by Danielle Hatch.
The parade of pretty women continues as MBIP pal Amber shows up with her friend Joe. Great to see both of them!
Christian and Todd bought us a beer flight and to prove that they're not beer snobs...
They even added a bottle of Budweiser to the flight! Thanks to Christian, Todd and all the pretty women of Peoria Brewing Company for a fun night and some great local brews! We'll see you all tomorrow and hey...let's be careful out there!
