Okay, today I was going to do a “Behind The Bucket List” post on Julie’s Corner Store in Lacon. Well, I got called in to work during the day yesterday and so I couldn’t do that, so look for that next Sunday. After work I had to go out and do my Saturday night thingamebob for tomorrow's post and so I don’t have much time for a post today. Last week I watched The Beatles first Film, “A Hard Day’s Night” and every time I watch that it bowls me over how timeless that movie is.
It came out in 1964 and the laughs are still there and the music is great. I thought that for today I’d just put up some “Hard Day’s Night” graphics and videos and then I’m off for a Hard Day’s Pizza that you can read about on Tuesday. Cheerio!
This was the American promotional poster for the film.
Here the Fab Four are turning Japanese for that country's promotional poster.
Britain issued this special poster for the movie's premiere at The Hammersmith Odeon.
A premiere ticket to the London Pavilion on July 6th, 1964.
Dell Books was quick to cash in on this, "swinging, gear" movie with this half buck book written by a paperback writer.
This still from the movie always cracked me up, It's John snorting a bottle of Coke. If the producers got the joke back in the day, you know this would've ended up on the cutting room floor.
Here’s a clip featuring the American film trailer and the French version. Ooh la la!
I think this train scene is my favorite clip from the movie. “Mister, can we have our ball back?”
George wasn’t typically known as the “funny” or “witty” Beatle, that title usually went to John, but he had a great sense of humor and wonderful timing as he shows in this scene. I think it’s one of the best in the movie.
Here’s the movie in it’s entirety. Enjoy and have a great Sunday and we’ll see you all tomorrow!
