I’ve thought up a new semi-regular feature here at MBIP and it’s going to be called, “The Semi-Monthly Peorian.” Basically, twice a month, I’m going to go somewhere and ask a total stranger some questions and take some pictures of them. I think it’ll be a fun feature and a way to spotlight our fellow Peorians right here on MBIP. Okay, let’s go out for this inaugural edition! To the MBIP mobile!
The roads are a little better today, but they're still slick in spots. It's supposed to get up to 40 degrees on Saturday and then this mess will all be gone. Having saId that, you don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows. Keep a clean nose. The pump don't work cause the vandals took the handles. Oh no!
There's our destination today, thirty-thirty coffee, we were here back in March of last year. Let's park and start today's adventure!
Here's a combination shot of the front window and an obligatory mirror shot of the photographer (me).
As you can see, the snow is still piled up and it's freezing out here, let's get inside. And yes, this is two obligatory mirror shots in a row, which is a first I think.
I was a little concerned that because of the rotten weather and the road conditions that there might not be anyone in here, but there's a decent crowd in here, especially considering that it's past the lunch hour.
Let's go get something to drink at the counter up here.
Check it out, it's Tony! We met him last time we were here. I ordered a cup of Earl Grey tea to warm me up before I look for this week's Semi-Monthly Peorian.
Wow, they give you a giganzo cup of tea in here. This is like 763 ounces! Cheers!
Okay, the tea is all gone and I'm all hopped up on the caffeine, time to go and look for this week's Semi-Annual Peorian!
There's nobody up here in the front window area, so we move on.
I thought about interviewing the Jumer's Bear that's standing back here with his back against the brick wall, but two things stopped me from doing this. 1. He's a bear and bears can't speak. 2. He's a dead bear and dead bears really can't speak. So we move on.
Here's a shot of thirty-thirty from where the bear stands. Grrrowl!
There's two young women over there in the church pew, let's go say hi to them.
This is Maggie and Marie and they’re both college students attending Olivet Nazarene University which is located about 50 miles from Chicago in Bourbonnais, Illinois They’re back home here in Peoria for the winter break. I asked if one of them would volunteer to be the very first Semi-Monthly Peorian...
And Maggie stepped up to the plate and said yes. Okay, on to the questions...
Favorite local restaurant? Cracked Pepper on Adams and I want to give Relics (they used to be next door to Cracked Pepper and now they’re on Glen) a shoutout too! I love Relics!
