Alright, it’s time to go out for the first two beers of 2014! I thought we’d stop by and wish a happy new year to our old friends at The Red Barn. And so it’s off to the MBIP mobile we go!
Motherfucker, it's freezing as fuck-all out here! I sat in my car for six minutes and the windshield is still frosty like the snowman. I hate winter!
Here we are, hey check out the front window, this seems to be a recurring theme here...
The Christmas Story lamp, be careful it's fragile!
Let's get inside and warm up!
I didn't think many people would be out on such a cold night the day after the holiday season has ended, but there's full crew at the bar, let's go say hi and see who's here tonight.
Bill and Maya were over in the far corner of the bar and Bill told me that he reads MBIP, which I always love to hear!
We've seen these guys in here before, it's the Red Barn irregular regulars, Jim and Fletch. And it's Fletch's birthday today so, happy birthday, Fletch!
And here's a friendly trio, Lisa, Doc and Tom. It was Lisa's birthday two days ago, so happy birthday to Lisa! I don't know about you, but I'm starting to get a little birthdayed out over here. Sheesh!
And here's Andy hoisting a drink at the bar. Andy's in town for the 11th Annual Regis Philbin Synchronized Swimming Tournament.
Here's Andy with his brother, Mike! Cheers guys...wait a second, I don't even have a drink yet, we need to correct that right here and now!
And here's the man to make that correction happen: Bartender Randy dutifully serves up a bottle of Budweiser. Cheers!
Randy showed me a new thing here at the Red Barn, shotglasses made of ice!
So of course I had to take one of them out on a test drive!
These things are slippery, so you need to use both hands to drink the shot, but they keep the liquor ice-cold and it makes for a smooth shot!
Of course we have to take a shot of the Nutt Hutt. I think this is the only one in town that has this unique spelling and the offer on the hut to, "Let Us Warm Your Nuts." Where were you on the drive over when I was freezing my balls off, Nutt Hutt?
And of course we have to take a photo of Spuds behind the bar.
This may just be my favorite obligatory mirror shot ever. It kind of looks like I'm part of this picture.
A dying species, the pay phone. An item made obsolete by the cell phone. So sad!
I love this icy blue Pabst clock.
Meanwhile back at the bar, Randy holds court.
