Live from Peoria, Illinois, it’s Saturday Night Cheeseburger starring this week’s host, Jimmy’s Bar and featuring the Ready For Prime Beef Player, Marty Wombacher with special guest appearances from Joe and Debbie Coletta, Moon and Chris Stokowski, Stephanie, Jack Berres, Matt, Nate, a bride, wedding cake and other people who’s names I didn’t have a pen to write down. And now, ladies and gentlemen, all the way from the Farmington Road Entertainment District, please welcome this week’s host, Jimmy’s Bar!
Alright, my work week is done, time to head out in search of this week's cheeseburger...
At Jimmy's Bar, a classic Peoria pub on Farmington Road.
The gentleman on the far left saw me taking a picture and called me over and told me he's a big fan of the blog, which was cool! Here's a photo of him and his party that were hanging out on the deck outside of the bar. I forgot to bring a pen, so I don't know their names, but maybe he'll leave them in the comments section. It was a nice way to start the night!
I'm meeting some friends here tonight, so let's go in, get a beer and see if we can find them inside.
Wow, it's jam-packed in here tonight!
I'm trying to move in to the bar, but to quote Long John Baldry: It an't easy!
Okay, I'm getting closer...
Houston...we have a beer and it's served up by pretty bartender Stephanie. Okay, we can officially let Saturday Night Cheeseburger begin!
I told you I was meeting some friends here and I think I spy them right over there at that table...
And here we are in group portrait number one, from left: Debbie, Chris, Yours Fooly, Moon and Joe.
And the bird flies in group portrait number two!
Here's Moon and Joe deep in discussion about Moon's annual, "It's Thanksgiving!" gobble day dance.
And now we get to watch Chris go from happy to...
Pissed off at the MBIP camera...
Check out this "speak to the hand moment!" It appears that just like Madonna in the '80's, Chris has a little of Sean Penn in her. So I decided to wander around a bit and let her cool off a little.
The countdown to St. Paddy's day moves along on the wall above our table.
Everybody text now!
Well if this isn't the most perfect thing to see on a Saturday Night Cheeseburger outing...cheezborger...cheezborger!
Here's a signed Captain Kangaroo photo to Jimmy I've always admired hanging on the wall.
A vintage Jimmy Buffett concert poster hangs above Jimmy Buffet HWY. See how things work out in here?
There was a wedding party in the back room and I say, let them eat cake!
Here's the bride! I didn't ask her name because I forgot my pen, I really need to remember to bring that thing. Anyway...congratulations!
As I return to the table, Chris has cooled off and condiments have appeared!
And then, like manna from heaven, the cheeseburger is served table-side. Check it out, two kinds of cheeses are on top of it!
I applied a healthy dollop of mustard...
And dove right in. Photo by Joe "Flash" Coletta.
I call this photo, "Two Generartions of Tomfoolery." It's Joe with Jack Berres, who's the son of Maggie and Paul Berres, two more high school friends of ours. You may remember Jack from the post when I had lunch with Paul.
And on the way out I met Nate and Matt hanging out by the door. Nate told me that he's a big fan of the blog, which I always love to hear! It was great to see everybody at Jimmy's, the friendliest bar in Peoria! Cheers and we'll see you all tomorrow!
My Cheeseburger
Jimmy’s Bar has an excellent burger with no frills other than the fact that they use two kinds of cheeses on it. The bun was bakery fresh, which is always a big deal to me and it was a juicy and tasy burger. They have a full menu here at Jimmy’s including corn dogs, an Italian sausage sandwich and...tenderloins! I may have to come back here for one of those down the road.
Cheeseburger Rating
Two and a half Wimpys. A delicious and upstanding cheeseburger is waiting to pleasure your pallette at Jimmy’s Bar.

P.S. Joe Spears
Jimmy’s brother, Joe got into a motorcycle accident last Saturday afternoon. The report from the PJ Star said the injuries aren’t life threatening, but he’s sedated and in the hospital. Please send prayers, positive thoughts and hopes to Joe and the Spears family for a speedy recovery.
