Okay, this is going to be a shorter post than usual. It’s Christmas day and I need to start the festivities! So here’s some pictures from a small Christmas party at Mike’s Tavern last Sunday afternoon. Enjoy and have a Merry Christmas everybody! Cheers to all of you!
Here we are at Mike's Tavern in West Peoria.
It's open, let's go in and get this party started!
Jessica has the night off and guest bartender Tim, serves up the first holiday can of Budweiser. Love his festive holiday Bears hat! Cheers!
And the first guests have arrived, Phil and Karen Luciano and they are bearing a gift in the gayest bag in the world! Not that there's anything wrong with that!
And here I am with the gift, trying to strike the Hollister pose.
And here's the gift, a giant pair of mustachioed underwear! I think I'll need to eat some Butch's Pizza to fit into this! Thanks Phil and Karen!
Here's JoEll, donning the festive party hat, which led us into a conversation topic of lice that led its way into bedbugs. Fun holiday chatter!
The next to arrive on the scene are the husband and wife contributors to MBIP, Danielle and Bob Gordon. Danielle was embarrassed about her byline in their last contribution, so after this picture, we may never see her again!
And yet another MBIP contributor arrives, Jeff Putnam. If you missed his piece on seeing the Buffalo Springfield at WIU, you can check it out here. It's a great story! And someone who was at that show left a comment, aaahh, the magic of the internet.
Remember I mentioned a Butch's pizza earlier? Well, here we are, time to dig in so I can fit into my holiday underwear!
Merry Christmas everybody!

Bonus Christmas Eve Photos From My Parents House
Our family always celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve with a nice dinner at my parents house. Here’s some shots from last night. It was a great Christmas and tonight we’re going to my sister’s for dinner. Wednesday the diet begins!
Mom, Dad and I in front of the Christmas tree.
Here's my brother Tom, sitting in the chair I like to sit in.
My brother-in-law Phil, attempts to crush my sister Terry by sitting on her lap.
My niece and nephew, Mary Beth and Greg wore Christmas colored shirts to make the evening a little more festive!
Here's Tom in the kitchen helping my mom out with the Christmas dinner. I'm just drinking beer and bothering everyone with my picture-taking.
Check out the stuffed mushrooms that Tom made! They even tasted better than they look! If only they made you hallucinate, they would be perfect!
Here's the Christmas feast, rolls, green beans with crispy onions, prime rib and duchess potatoes. The salad is not pictured and we had cheesecake for dessert. A wonderful holiday dinner, as always!
After dinner I went to my mom's nativity scene and put the baby Jesus up on the roof. I've been doing this for year's and my mom has never been too happy about this Christmas tradition. I don't think the baby Jesus is too thrilled about it either, but what are you going to do?
And a festive obligatory bathroom mirror shot at my folks bathroom to end it all. Merry Crimble everybody!
