It’s been months since we went on a Scott Turley Road Trip, the last one was in June at the start of the summer. Both of us had busy schedules this summer and we didn’t have time for a road trip…until today! And the destination for today is El Paso…UPDATE: I guess it’s in Metamora, even though their facebook page lists it as El Paso.
Whoops, there’s a knock at the door, let’s see if it’s the MBIP Pal and Wheelman, Scott Turley…
Marty Robbins? Yeah, I love your song. We’ll see you later, pal, nice first name by the way!
Okay, there’s another knock…
There he is, the aforementioned, MBIP Pal and Wheelman, Scott Turley! He’s already unbalanced, wait till a few drinks hits him!
Okay, time to hit the road!
There’s Scott behind the wheel and there’s the open road in front of us! Off we go on yet another road trip adventure!
Signpost ahead: Cinco de Mayo Mexican Restaurant!
Wow, it’s a large, colorful and an impressive looking building!
I love the paintings in the windows and there’s Scott leading the way inside.
The foyer is nice and colorful and there’s a couple of the day’s drink specials.
The main dining room is large with dining tables and comfortable booths lining the walls.
We settled in at a booth and checked out the menu, which had a large selection of choices and entrees on it.
Carlos was our friendly waiter and here he is delivering our margaritas and then he took our dinner order.
Our dinner started out with complimentary chips and homemade salsa.
They were delicious and I like the personalized cups they give you. It allows you to double-dip without any guilt!
There’s another room off to the side of the main dining area and yet another room behind that one.
The back room has a bar with six beers on tap.
There’s dining tables opposite the bar and booths line the far wall. This place is huge!
I love the colorful mural in the main dining area.
Meanwhile, back at our booth…
Our Mexican dinners are served!
Scott got the Steak Burrito Fajita and I got the Steak Jalisco dinner. The food looks absolutely fabulous! Time to dig in!
There’s the patent-pending Turley Bite in action!
Scott said his burrito was delicious and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
My Steak Jalisco was a tasty treat!
It’s a half pound of ribeye steak topped with grilled onions and peppers. It was so juicy, tender and cooked to perfection! What a fantastic meal!
Thanks to Carlos and everyone at Cinco De Mayo for the fantastic drinks and food!
And thanks to Scott for driving and hanging out for the afternoon, lots of fun as always!
