Well, summer is long gone and we’ve ridden this year’s doggone hot dog eating series about as far as we can. Time to put the brakes on the old Wienermobile and declare my favorite hot dog of the tour and that hot dog is the Jumbo Dog at Jack’s On Adams!
All of the hot dogs on the tour were tasty and delicious, but the Jumbo Dog takes the hot dog up a notch from every other hot dog in Peoria and beyond.
Let’s head on over to Jack’s On Adams for this final Dog Days of Summer post and end this year’s series with a festive award-winning hot diggity dog finale!
Here we are at Jack’s On Adams in beautiful downtown Peoria.
Let’s go in and begin the final Dog Days of Summer…2024 episode!
There’s always a nice friendly vibe when you enter Jack’s On Adams and see the front dining area.
As soon as I took a few steps in, I was greeted by the man himself, Jack Berres, the owner, operator and namesake of Jack’s On Adams.
Always great to see Jack and I told him I had something to present him with later in the afternoon. But first, let’s take a few photos in here!
There’s a couple shots of the bar and one from the back of the bar.
They are well stocked with beverages and there’s the Jack’s On Adams mirror on the wall behind the bar.
All the art and photos in here are spectacular and it’s fun to wander around and check them out.
I love the Peoria Proud wall and I also love that photo of Willie York, a proud Peorian if ever there was one!
There’s the stage in front of the dining area where the live music happens in here and there’s a large gaming room to the side of the dining section for all of you gamblers out there!
In my travels I ran into Bill Voorhees (to the left) and his sons, Jake and Collins. Great to see Bill and catch up on things and it was wonderful to meet his sons!
Here’s our table and the award for later and there’s our special guest star, Paul Berres!
Paul is the owner and chief operator at Born Paint Company and he’s also Jack’s father, so I thought he’d like to be here when I present Jack with the best hot dog award.
Juan came over and took our drink and lunch orders. Paul and I decided to split a Jumbo Dog and…
An order of chicken wings dressed in the house-made Jack’d Up sauce.
They were prepared perfectly, juicy, delicious and the Jack’d Up sauce is out of this world tasty!
We’re off to wonderful start to this award-winning luncheon!
Here’s the star of the show, the Jumbo Dog! We got it with chopped onions and Paul and I each got a side of the homemade cole slaw.
It looks absolutely fabulous!
There’s Paul getting ready to dig in!
The Jumbo Dog is a Nathan’s all beef, half pound hot dog and it is so savory and tasty! The bun is bakery fresh and the cole slaw and onions top it off to perfection!
This is the best hot dog in Peoria and beyond! If you haven’t tried this yet, get over to Jack’s On Adams and try one out! They’re open for lunch and dinner, so get on over there and sample this tasty treat!
After lunch I presented Jack with this year’s Dog Days Of Summer…2024 award!
There he is opening it up and holding this well-deserved best hot dog in Peoria award!
Congratulations, Jack and thanks for giving Peoria such a fun and delightful downtown dining and drinking destination!
There’s the 2024 Dog Days Of Summer Award on display at Jack’s On Adams!
Congratulations to Jack’s and we’ll be back next week with a Palate Cleanser and the announcement of the next MBIP food tour!
