While Googling around on the interwebs looking for a bar, I came across a listing for Louie’s Unique Pub in East Peoria. This place used to be called, Ron and Ivie’s Unique Tavern and I visited there and put up a blog about this place way back in 2013!
Well, it’s been 13 years, so I think it’s time for a return visit and so it’s off to East Peoria we go!

Bar Number 108: Louie’s Unique Pub, Thursday, April 30, 2026
Here we are at Louie’s Unique Pub on Meadow Avenue in East Peoria.
It’s been 13 years since I’ve been in here, let’s go in and see if it’s changed much inside!
Wow, it’s hardly changed at all. Let’s grab a seat and get the first beer of the evening!
Amy’s the friendly and pretty bartender on duty and here she is serving me up an ice-cold bottle of Pabst Blue Ribbon that probably has Chad Wallace drooling over!
As I took a photo of the back of the bar, I noticed that they have not one, but two Spuds MacKenzie’s back there! Very nice!
These two signs behind the bar hammer home that it is definitely a unique pub in here!
Pat was seated next to me at the bar and it turns out we are both alumni of Bergan High School! We had a nice conversation about Bergan and other topics, great to meet him!
As you can see, they have a nice selection of Bourbon to sample in here!
This bar is quite the historical landmark and Amy showed me this photo from 1932!
Larry is the current owner of the Unique Pub and he bought it a couple years ago.
He said business has been great and this is a nice neighborhood pub and he aims to keep that vibe going in here. Well done, Larry!
There’s tables and gaming machines over here in this corner opposite the bar.
I met Billy and Angie at the bar and Billy told me that he and his family are the former owners of the Friendly Valley Tavern and that he sold it to Sean Kenny a few years ago. He said that he and his dad always appreciated the posts I did from there in the past, which was nice to hear!
And I have a brand new post from Friendly Valley Tavern coming up this Monday! Stay tuned! Great to meet and visit with Billy and Angie!
I love the Tito’s table on top of the wooden keg over here in the corner!
Okay, one last shot of the bar in here and then it’s time to…
Say good knight to everybody: Good knight everybody, have a great day and evening and we’ll see you all tomorrow!
