Ding, ding, ding…the donation bell has been rung once again! Ean Albers generously donated $25.00 and I want to thank him for that! I truly appreciate it and these donations are really helping out with the cost of beers, gas and Uber rides! Thanks so much Ean!

Tonight is kind of a combination blog, I’m going out for a Saturday night dinner with friends, so the first part will be our dinner and the second half will be us enjoying drinks at the bar.

As you’ve seen from the title, we’re heading off for a Saturday night dinner at the Olympia Sports Bar + Grill in Pioneer Park…but who are these friends I’m going out with?

Well, scroll on down and you shall find out for yourself! Let’s go start this Saturday night out on the town!

Olympia Sports Bar + Grill: Dinner Portion

Here we are at Olympia Sports Bar + Grill. As you can see from the sign, every Tuesday they have a Drink & Think Trivia Night in here.

Okay, let’s go in, it’s freezing out here!

We were told we could sit anywhere, so we chose a table opposite the bar, which we’ll be hanging out at after dinner.

And here’s those aforementioned friends I said would be joining me tonight, my friends, Amber and Joe! They’re looking fabulous as always, tonight!

Great to have them along tonight, it’s always a blast to hang out with the two of them!

Our pretty server for the evening is Reagan and she delivered me a 16 ounce Budweiser tallboy to start the evening off! Cheers!

Seated at the table directly behind us were our friends, Pete, Linda, Steve and Karen, wonderful to see all of them!

Pete was here on the very first blog I ever did on Olympia shortly after they opened in 2018…hard to believe that was eight years ago! As I always say, fun flies when you’re having time!

We started the evening off with an appetizer order of Spanikopita Eggrolls.

These are crispy eggrolls stuffed with a rich four cheese and spinach filling. They are served with a spicy Tzatziki sauce and they were a rich and creamy treat!

Here’s the back dining room and a listing of the 16 beers on tap!

There’s a gaming room in the back over here if you’re feeling lucky. Well, do ya…punk?

Meanwhile, back at our table…

Our Saturday night dinner has arrived!

From the top: Amber got a House Salad and a Hummus Plate, Joe got the Gyro Melt and I got the Buffalo Chicken Gyro.

Everything looks fabulous, let’s dig in and let this Saturday night dinner begin!

There’s Amber and Joe enjoying their dinners. They said everything was tasty and delicious!

The Buffalo Chicken Gyro is slices of marinated chicken breast, dressed in their Buffalo wing sauce and topped with fresh tzatziki sauce, onion and tomato and served on toasted pita bread.

It was such a taste treat! The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the sandwich had just the right amount of Buffalo zing to it!

Olympia Sports Bar + Grill: The Bar!

After dinner we took seats at the long and winding bar in here.

This might just be the longest bar in Peoria, you can’t capture the whole thing in one photo!

There’s Amber and Joe settled in to our spot in the middle of the long and winding bar at Olympia!

We checked out the Seasonal Cocktail Menu and the pretty bartender on duty, Caitlin came over and took our orders. You can see what I ordered below.

Here’s a shot from the other end of the bar and a photo of the middle area where we’re seated. As you can see, the bar is full and lively tonight!

And, as you can see from these two shots of the back of the bar, it is well stocked with a full inventory of beer, booze and other drinks.

There’s a large selection of beers on tap and Caitlin was gracious enough to take photos of all of the taps, thanks, Caitlin!

The Drinks

I had two Budweiser tallboys and a Chocolate Mint Martini and a Sugar Cookie Martini from the Seasonal Cocktail Menu and they were a tasty treat!

Thanks to everyone at Olympia Sports Bar + Grill for the wonderful service, food and drinks! It was a fun and flavorful evening!

And thanks to Amber and Joe for joining me and driving, it’s always a treat to hang out with them for the evening!
