Today is a rare day here on MBIP, we’re going to a shop that I’ve never been to! After doing this blog for over 13 years, it’s always fun to go somewhere brand new.
This place is a popcorn shop that makes and sells its own unique gourmet popcorn and it’s called She-Pop. And, I heard through the grapevine, they also sell hot dogs!
It’s located on Knoxville Avenue, so let’s roll on over and start the seventh week of this doggone tour!
There’s the She-Pop storefront off of Knoxvllle Avenue. I love their logo in the front window and if you look closely at the second photo, you can see an obligatory mirror shot of me taking the photo!
Let’s go in and take a look around.
It’s very nice in here and there’s a couple people up at the front counter, so let’s go and take a few photos while we wait for their orders to be placed.
All the popcorn in here is made fresh, in house and it looks delicious. I’ll have to stop back in for a Friday snack post and try it out.
They have tins to store your popcorn in and I love the She-Pop jackets for sale in here. Nice merch!
There’s a nice article about She-Pop in the PJ Star and you can read that by clicking here.
Below that is a photo from the ribbon cutting ceremony when the shop opened up in 2022. That’s the owner of the business, Shelia Marshall on the left, next to her parents, Bobbie and Marzie.
In addition to popcorn, they also sell food and there’s today’s specials.
Okay, the last customer has just gotten her order, time to step up to the counter and place this week’s hot dog order.
There’s Chunti, who was working the counter and she’s the daughter of owner Sheila.
Great to meet her and as you can see on the menu to the left, they have hot dogs for sale in here, so we ordered this week’s hot dog.
There’s no dining area inside, so my special guest star and I decided to drive to Glen Oak Park and have a picnic lunch there on this beautiful mid-July afternoon.
We decided to park ourselves at this trio of picnic tables.
And here’s the driver and special hot dog guest star of the week, none other than Jeff Putnam!
Jeff and I have been friends for decades now and it’s always great to see him.
When this blog started back in 2012, Jeff was one of the first guest writers on the blog and check out this post from the very first week of the blog back in December of 2012!
Jeff got a bratwurst and I of course got the weekly hot dog with mustard and onions.
They both look fantastic!
There’s Jeff digging in to his bratwurst. Man bites brat!
He said it tasted fantastic!
Here’s the star of this week’s doggone post, this week’s hot dog with the classic condiment combo of mustard and onions.
This is a delicious, all beef hot dog and the bun is bakery fresh! A delicious treat on a sunny afternoon in Glen Oak Park!

Hot Dog Rating
This was a delicious hot dog and it was great to check out She-Pop, I will return to sample their gourmet, popcorn for a Friday snack post!
I’ll give their hot dog a nice rating of two and a quarter wiener dogs. Thanks to Jeff for driving and being this week’s hot dog guest star!
