This Thursday is big anniversary for Joan Jett. Forty-three years ago on that upcomnig date, March 20th, 1982, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts had their first and only number one hit record with the song, “I Love Rock ’n’ Roll.”
In honor of this, we’ve got six links to Joan Jett online articles and a video from an appearance on Late Night With David Letterman.
And then there’s the MBIP Coming Attractions as to what’s happening on the blog this week!

Sunday Links
Joan Jett: Biography - This is a nice, concise biography of Joan Jett and I learned that The Who helped her make her first album, which I didn’t know.
Joan Jett Reflects on The Runaways, Breakup Was 'Devastating' - I love how she’s still really angry about being treated like a second-class person in the world of rock ‘n roll just because she’s a woman. I wouldn’t want to piss her off!
Album Histories Monthly: Joan Jett – ‘I Love Rock ‘n Roll’ - A feature article on Joan Jett’s career-making hit, “I Love Rock ‘n Roll” and there’s also links at the end of the article to other features on Joan Jett.
Joan Jett & The Blackhearts Smash Genre (And Gender) Boundaries - Joan Jett & The Blackhearts got inducted into The Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. This is their biography from the website and a video of them performing “Bad Reputation” at the ceremony.
Joan Jett’s Life in Photos - My favorite is the one with Debbie Harry, Joey Ramone and David Johansen, posing with Joan.
Five Reasons We Love Joan Jett - These are all great reasons but Number Three is the obvious one!
Joan Jett on Letterman in 1987 - I like this video because in addition to the great song, there’s a fun interview at the end of it.
