We’re starting a new Friday series here at MBIP devoted to snack items. We’re going to cover this in a variety of ways, I may pick up snack items at at a store, maybe go out somewhere and get a quick bite somewhere as opposed to a full meal and…well…we’ll play it by ear like we always do!
For starters, I’m going to go get a legendary local snack item, Ritz Crackers and Castle’s Patio Inn Cheese Spread!
Here we are at Castle’s Patio Inn, A.K.A. The Cheesiest Place in Town!
The place just opened up, so the bar has plenty of seating available!
But we’re not here for booze, we’re here for this week’s debut snack items!
And here’s Nadine who’s last day is today! She’s in her ninth month of pregnancy and after her shift today she’s taking some time off to have her baby boy and then bask in the joys of motherhood!
Congratulations, Nadine! She’s working today until 5pm, so you should definitely stop in and wish her good luck and give her a nice tip and/or a going away gift!
While Nadine gets this week’s snack items together, we’ll take a look around in this legendary Peoria tavern!
There’s the beers on tap along with the two sizes of the famous Castle’s Patio Inn Cheese!
They have daily drink specials in here and there’s the classic wooden cheese cooler behind the bar.
There’s tables opposite the bar with classic decor on the walls, a golf game is seated in the front of the bar and there’s a gaming room in the back for all of you gamblers out there!
Castle’s Patio Inn is Peoria’s official Malort Bar! Stop in and have a shot if you dare!
They have lots of Peoria-related books and reading material and they feature local authors such as…ME! I’m right next to Jonathan Wright and Dawson Barrett’s Punks in Peoria book, a great read if you haven’t checked it out!
And there’s the first copy of POP magazine with the excellent Running Blind in Traffic book by P. Nimmo behind it!
Check out the display of the different crocks of Patio Inn Cheese through the years! It was originally Ray’s Patio Inn Cheese and then changed over to Castle’s Patio Inn Cheese.
And speaking of cheese…
Here’s Nadine with this week’s cheesy snack treat! Thanks Nadine and good luck with the birth of your baby boy and enjoy your time off! We’ll see you when you return!
Now…it’s time for this week’s debut snack attack!
We’re back at MBIP World Headquarters Official Snacking Area and there’s the Ritz Crackers and Castle’s world-famous cheese.
It’s a four step process to enjoy this marvelous snack treat.
Take the lid off of the cheese.
Get a knife and put it in the cheese.
Then…
3. Spread the cheese on the Ritz cracker.
4. Eat and repeat!
What a delicious cheese and cracker snack. And it’s perfect for your upcoming holiday parties!
Stop by Castle’s and get a tub or two of cheese and wish Nadine the best as she gets ready for Mommy-hood!
