Okay, this doggone tour is winding down and I wanted to make a specialized hot dog sandwich myself here at MBIP World Headquarters, so that’s exactly what we’re doing this week.
Before we start, we need supplies, so it’s off to the grocery store we go!
Here we are at Schnucks Grocery Store which is conveniently located just a few blocks from the MBIP World Headquarters.
I made my way to the hot dog section in the cold cuts department and chose a pack of Nathan’s Jumbo Restaurant Style All Beef Franks for this week’s hot dog selection.
Now we’ll roam around and figure out what else to get in here for this week’s home-styled hot dog.
Alright, we’re back at the MBIP World Headquarters for what I’ve decided this week’s homemade hot dog will be and that is an open-faced chili-cheese chicken wing hot dog sandwich!
This is going to be a truly original, one-of-a-kind hot dog sandwich and there’s the ingredients I chose to make it with.
Clockwise from the left: Chopped onions, Syborg’s Chicken Wing Sauce, Nathan’s Jumbo Hot Dogs, bakery rolls, chili powder, Amber and Joe’s Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce and Sargento Sharp Cheddar Cheese Slices.
Okay, all our ingredients are lined up, and now…let’s cook!
This is going to go quick, so hold on tight and here we go!
Frist we put two sliced hot dogs in this hot pan with melted butter to fry them up.
Next week we’ll butter up our bakery rolls and put a dusting of chili powder on top of the butter to spice them up. Then we put them under the broiler for heavy-duty toasting.
I just cut up the hot dogs as they were curling up as they reached their final frying point.
The bakery buns are nicely toasted, so now we’ll add slices of the Sargento Sharp Cheddar Cheese and put them back under the broiler.
I told you this would move quickly and I can hardly keep up with this pace!
Now we’ll make the all-important chicken wing/onion sauce.
I’ve started sautéing the onions in the butter mixture from the hot dogs and I’ve added the Syborg chicken wing sauce, Amber and Joe’s Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce and a generous dash of Chili Powder.
Now we’ll let that simmer for a few minutes and then we’ll plate it all up!
Okay, here we go!
We’ll place the hot dogs on the melted cheese covered bakery rolls and then top it off with the rich and savory chicken wing and onion sauce.
There you have it: A Chili-Cheese Chicken Wing Open Face Hot Dog Sandwich!
A truly original take on a hot dog dish that I made up as I went along.
Okay, let’s dig in to this delightful open-faced hot diggity-doggy sandwich!
Wow, this is a flavorful and tasty sensation!
The sauce has a ton of flavor from the chicken wing sauce and Amber and Joe’s Pineapple Habanero Hot Sauce and it mixes nicely with the rich melted sharp cheddar cheese. The bakery rolls are fresh and toasted nicely and this is a hot diggity dog delight!

Hot Dog Rating
Okay, I’m biased because I know the guy who made this, but I’m giving this a top rating of four Wienermobiles!
This was such a tasty hot dog delight and next week I’m choosing my favorite from our Dog Days Of Summer 2024 Tour, so stay tuned for that!
