Okay, we’re past the halfway point in this clucked up fried chicken tour and our seventh month finds us heading to a fried chicken destination that’s somewhat of a fried chicken hidden gem here in Peoria.
Agatucci’s Restaurant is a beloved Peoria restaurant known for its pizza and homemade Italian dishes, but they also have a fried chicken dinner that’s a recipe that’s been handed down since the beginning of this classic Peoria restaurant.
Let’s head over there and start the seventh month of our Clucky Dozen Fried Chicken Tour!
Here we are at one of my favorite dining destinations in Peoria and beyond, Agatucci’s Restaurant! Let’s go in and start the seventh month of this clucked up fried chicken tour!
There’s the bar and I see a couple familiar faces down there at the end…
It’s Tony and Danny Agatucci! The fourth generation owners of this historical family-owned Peoria business. They’re two of the nicest guys in town and it’s always a pleasure to see them and catch up on things!
I see some other familiar faces over at that table in the main dining room…
It’s the MBIP Fried Chicken Eating Crew! From the top: Tom, Jeff, Floyd and Charlie.
Great to see all of them and we’re all excited about tonight’s fried chicken feast at Agatucci’s!
Amanda was our pretty and friendly waitress for the evening and here she is delivering some beers and then she took our fried chicken dinner orders.
Things are moving along smoothly tonight and I love it when this happens!
Floyd and Charlie ordered an appetizer of the Fried Ravioli with the homemade meat sauce and they were crispy and delicious. A wonderful start to tonight’s fried chicken dinner!
Here’s a few shots up at the bar in the front of the restaurant. I always have to feature the stained glass Michelob lamp and the classic Hamm’s Beer sign behind the bar.
There’s the Budweiser Cardinals neon display, the signature backwards Agatucci’s clock and check out the welcome we got on the sign! Nice!
Booths line the walls with the custom-made wine chandeliers hanging overhead.
Meanwhile, back at our table…
Dinner is starting to arrive! We each got a salad and we split a Supreme Pizza for an additional appetizer. Hey, you have to get a pizza when you come to Agatucci’s, it’s just the rules!
We got it with extra cheese and ordered it extra well done and it was a delicious start to our meal!
And now, for the star of the show, the Agatcucci’s Fried Chicken Dinner!
The fried chicken dinner comes with French Fries and four pieces of fried chicken. It looks absolutely devine, let’s dig in to this fried chicken feast!
Wow, this chicken is off the charts tasty and flavorful!
It’s crispy on the outside and so tender and juicy on the inside. The chicken is deep-fried in the homemade Agatucci’s batter and it’s seasoned and cooked to perfection!
The chicken is packed with flavor and it’s so satisfying and wonderful!
We all agreed that this was some of the best fried chicken we’ve had so far and this was a wonderful evening!
And there’s Jeff being cheered on by Charlie as he wins the clean plate award for the seventh straight month of this clucked up tour!
There’s Anthony, who’s the chef that prepared our fried chicken dinners standing with Jeff.
He did an outstanding job with the dinners and we all agreed that he’s a master of cooking and preparing fried chicken dinners! Thanks for the tasty dinners, Anthony, we salute you!

Usually there’s different opinions among all of us about the fried chicken, but this time we all agreed that this was the best and tastiest fried chicken we’ve had so far on this clucked up tour! It was crispy, juicy and so uniquely flavorful!
It gets a well-deserved highest rating of this tour so far: three point six Colonels!
